gravity filters

Reading time:

In view of their cost, most large flow rate filtering systems designed for drinking water applications, together with a number of industrial or wastewater clarification systems, use gravity filters that are usually constructed of concrete.

In most cases, we are dealing with settled water filtration, occasionally direct filtration over a filter, or even direct filtration without any reagents. The treatment method will influence the technological design of the filters and, especially, the design of the overall filter battery.

SUEZ's main gravity filters are the Aquazur sand filters, the Médiazur dual-media filters and the Carbazur activated carbon filters. All these filters use the equipment described in the section equipping granular media filters, especially the floor detailed under the section floors for concrete open gravity filters.
