an example: water feed for the Tabriz NPC refinery

Reading time:

This petrochemical plant receives ground water that is saline and hard after carbonate removal (1 200 m3·h–1), filtration, reverse osmosis (1 000 m3·h–1), followed by demineralisation (300 m3·h–1 by cation-anion) for its boilers, the remainder supplying processes and the cooling tower.

Treatment of condensates that could be oily, through activated carbon and mixed beds enabling 200 m3·h–1 of condensates to be recycled in the boiler. The remainder of contaminated condensates will be found in wastewater. See also estimated water pollution during rainfall for a description of IWW treatment in the same refinery.
