evaporation/ crystallisation by-products
Reading time:There are two types of by-products coming from evaporation/cristallisation processes: condensates and salts. The condensates obtained are of very high quality with a dissolved salts content lower than 200mg/l and can be as low as 10mg/l. As previously shown, condensate quality is affected by the brine’s own composition. Depending upon the objectives, a brine pre-treatment stage and/or condensate post-treatment stage may prove to be necessary.
In regards to the salts, either very high quality salts (NaCℓ, NaSO4, KCℓ, …) could be produced with a level of purity higher than 98% for recycling as other uses, or a salt “mix” comprising of different crystals, but for which recovery is not as easy.
