sludge and waste

Reading time:

APIbottom sludge (grit, clay and oil mainly originating in storm water) is recovered and usually hot treated in a water knockout tank.

Surface oil is sent to the slops tank.

Biological sludge is often sent to a flotation process beforehand in order to be thickened with secondary oily sludge from flotation and then dewatered and landfilled.
